Long-term Vision
• To provide a secure, easily accessible and reliable railway service to enhance the country's economic development.
• To link the country’s railway network with the railway network of neighbouring countries.
• To extend the railway services, connecting Mechi to Mahakali, Kathmandu –AbuKhaireni - Pokhara, Abukhaireni - Tamasariya (Nawalparasi), China (Tibet) – Kathmandu and Indian border to all the major business centres: Bardibas, Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Kakarbhitta, Birgunj and link and integrate east-west railway network with Terai-Kathmandu railway network
